GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSIONS TO CRESCENT MOON PUBLISHING






Our areas of interest are:
 

poetry, fiction, reviews, fine art, painting, sculpture, cinema, music, the media, literature, politics, philosophy, feminism, cultural studies, and many kinds of criticism and the best in contemporary writing.
 
 

- Only work with a stamped addressed envelope or International Reply Coupons will be returned (and only if you specify).

- A short biography is helpful.

- We prefer to consider short manuscripts at first - a sample chapter or two, say, or no more than 6 poems - rather than complete books (do not send whole, unsolicited MSS).

- We prefer non-rhyming poetry.

- An initial letter or phone call is OK.

- All submissions are carefully reviewed, and we aim to reply to all submissions.

Passion magazine is a new quarterly journal, launched in February, 1994. ISSN 1352-3473. Each issue is £2.50 or $4.00. Subscriptions per year are £10.00 or $17.00 (Institutions: £15.00/ $25.00). Price includes postage and packing.

Pagan America is a bi-annual anthology of new poetry from North America and Canada, published in March and September. ISSN 1354-1056. Each book is £4.99 or $8.95. Subscriptions per year are £10.00 or $17.00 (institutions £15.00 or $25.00)
Prices include postage and packing. (Please make cheques, POs, IMOs, etc, payable to Crescent Moon in US dollars or UK sterling).

Please contribute! We publish reviews on many subjects, including cinema, literature, music, concerts, books, theatre. We feature essays on many subjects, including politics, psychology, science, media, arts, literature, philosophy and feminism. Articles on ideas or speculations are welcome. We will also print short fiction.
Passion is looking for thought-provoking, incisive, polemical, ironic, lyrical, sensual and hilarious work. No rubbish, trivia, party politics, sport, etc, please.  If you have an article or essay or poem that hasn't yet found a home, do send it. If you know of other people who would be interested in contributing or subscribing, do tell them.  And please subscribe!
Sorry, we cannot pay for contributions at present, but you will receive a complimentary copy.
If you have a WP or computer, please set your manuscript in 12pt Times or an equivalent, good-looking, serifed typeface, A5-size (text set in an area 11 x 17cm maximum).

We are looking for new pop music acts, and welcome submissions.
 
 
 

- We are interested in many types of popular and contemporary music, not just mainstream rock or pop.

- We will consider music publishing deals.

- We prefer submissions from committed artists.

- We accept music on cassette tape, CD, DAT, DVD, VHS video, etc.

- Please put your best song or material as the first track on your demo, and send a maximum of four tracks.

- Please label tapes & CDs, etc clearly, including your address.

- Additional material, such as a short biography, photos, videos, and so on, is helpful.

- Submissions will only be returned if requested and with a stamped addressed envelope or International Reply Coupons (we cannot use US stamps).

- We look at all submissions.

- We aim to respond to submissions within two months.

- If you know of other people who might be interested, please tell them about us.
